SPORT, GOOD HEALTH AND WELLBEING

This month, we hare working on Good Health and Wellbeing. We are making researches about National Athlets, creating puzzles and playing our friends’  puzzles. Also, we are going to create a video including the most well known quotes about the sport and health.

Sport is an activity that has many benefits for the human body and that we should do regularly. It is good for physical health as well as mental health. It is the most beautiful activity that helps us to get rid of whatever bad energy we have on us.

The sooner we start exercising, the better it will be for our body. We should definitely make sports a habit. Unaccustomed bodies will of course have difficulties at first. But after a certain time, you can be sure that you will not be able to live still.

Every year, UNESCO celebrates the virtues and universal values of sports and wants to remind us that sports practice, which enables us to have a "healthy mind in a healthy body", has the ethics of living together and in peace.

By learning to join forces with a team, female and male athletes promote citizenship and peace – even in defeat – by following the rules of respect, equality and fair play.

There are many sports branches that every person can do, such as swimming, running, walking, gymnastics. It will be enough for your body health to choose the most suitable one for you and do 40-50 minutes depending on the branch you choose. We would like to specify a detail here. Before starting the exercises, it is necessary to warm up for 15-20 minutes. Exercising without warming up the body can cause serious problems. In addition, sports should not be done immediately after eating and while hungry.

As Atilla Baykal Secondary School Team, we created a list of 10 important reasons for doing sports;

1- First of all, it causes an increase in our energy, because the heart rate accelerates during exercise, more blood is pumped to the body, and the oxygen going to the cells increases.

2- Through exercise, the body's Ph level is balanced, diseases such as rheumatism and cancer can be prevented.

3- Exercising improves mood and causes the body to release endorphins.

4- It provides weight gain in a healthy way, and the way to gain weight is through regular nutrition and regular exercise.

5- It provides weight loss in a healthy way, regular exercise runs the metabolism and helps you burn calories.

6- It causes an increase in body resistance and slows down the loss of power in later ages.

7- It increases the flexibility of the body and helps to increase the mobility.

8- It improves balance and concentration.

9- It causes us to be purified from toxins.

10- It makes a healthy and better life possible.

February - Leadership (People Who Change the World)

     This month, we are focusing on Leadership and the people we believe that change the world or our world. We are trying to choose the leaders that influence us or have a very important impression. Firstly, we want to mention about the principles of a Sustainable Leadership.       Also, we need the definition of Sustainable Leadership, here it is; " Sustainability leadership is a process of influence that delivers direction, alignment and commitment, and aims to address social, environmental and economic issues to create a better world. This definition draws from McCauley (2014), Quinn and D’Amato (2008), and Visser and Courtice (2011). It reminds us that leadership is not a position - it is a  process of influence  that usually involves a group of people working together to build a shared vision for change, coordinate their activities, and foster personal commitment to collective success. It also reminds us that sustainability leaders seek to deliver outcomes that maximise valu
